100% Wagyu and 100% Grass-Fed
Wagyu beef is famous around the world for its rich flavor and exceptional tenderness. Traditionally, Wagyu cattle are finished on grain to develop heavy marbling.
At Carter James Ranch, we take a different approach.

Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, raised on pasture the way ruminants were designed to live. By combining Wagyu genetics with a natural grass-based diet, we produce beef that is deeply flavorful, nutrient-dense, and naturally raised.
Grass-fed Wagyu develops a unique balance of tenderness, rich flavor, and healthier fats, including higher levels of beneficial omega-3 fatty acids compared to conventional grain-fed beef.
What Make Wagyu Different?
Wagyu cattle are known for their ability to develop intramuscular marbling which is the fine streaks of fat within the muscle that create tenderness and flavor.
When Wagyu are raised on pasture and finished on grass, the marbling develops more naturally and the flavor becomes clean, beefy, and complex rather than overly rich.
The result is beef that combines the genetics of Wagyu with the benefits of a pasture-based diet.
Most Wagyu beef is heavily grain-finished to maximize marbling. Our Wagyu is 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, producing beef with the renowned tenderness of Wagyu genetics and the clean flavor and nutritional benefits of a pasture-based diet.
