A membership for individuals and small families who value knowing exactly where their food comes from. Every order, the ranch selects 5 to 7 pounds of pasture-raised meat for your curated box, featuring a rotating seasonal mix of beef, chicken, pork, and lamb.

Each delivery features the best of what is available from our ranch and partner farms. Because we work with whole animals and seasonal supply, boxes naturally vary. This variety allows us to farm responsibly and sustainably.

Feedback & Preferences
Your feedback matters. Likes and dislikes help guide future planning as we curate upcoming deliveries. While we do our best to honor preferences, immediate changes are not always possible due to advance planning and seasonal supply.
Substitutions & Delivery DayBecause boxes are carefully planned and packed ahead of time, substitutions are not available on delivery day. This allows us to operate efficiently and fairly for all members.
Pausing, Canceling & Missed Deliveries
We understand that family schedules change. Memberships may be paused or canceled with advance notice. To allow proper planning and packing, requests must be submitted at least three days in advance by contacting info@carterjamesranch.com or 913-379-4600. If we are not notified in time, your box will still be prepared and charged. Missed deliveries may be redirected to charity.
Optional Add-Ons
From time to time, we offer optional add-ons such as pasture-raised eggs, sourdough bread, elderberry kits, and tallow when available. These are offered separately based on seasonal supply.
While your membership box provides a steady foundation for your freezer, members are always welcome to place additional orders for specific cuts and seasonal items when available. This allows you to supplement your box as needed throughout the year.

Member Registration Fee
A one-time $25 registration fee is collected at the first pickup for new members only and supports onboarding and administrative setup. Returning members are not charged this fee. New members receive an insulated bag at no additional cost. The registration fee is paid in person at first delivery by cash, check, or Venmo.
